Six diverse Britons embark on a soul-stirring journey of healing and reconciliation across India — a land of profound spiritual wisdom and living traditions of nonviolence. Each participant brings a deeply personal story shaped by violence, discrimination, or emotional hardship — and a longing to transform pain into purpose.
These modern-day pilgrims may include:
- A survivor of knife crime,
- A former gang member seeking redemption,
- A Black cab driver grappling with economic instability and social invisibility,
- A homeless veteran yearning for dignity and healing,
- A high school teacher concerned about rising drug use among youth, and
- A British-born Sikh youth who has faced racial profiling and identity-based bullying, now yearning to reconnect with his/her roots and reclaim pride in their heritage.
Joining them is a professional cricketer or footballer — someone admired for their sporting achievements and followed for their social voice — who is using this journey to lend visibility to inner transformation and the role of love in rebuilding fractured communities.
Guided by Indian wisdom teacher Mandar Apte, the group begins their journey in Mumbai, India’s bustling metropolis where chaos and compassion co-exist. They then travel to Amritsar, the spiritual home of Sikhism, where the Golden Temple becomes a site of reflection and reconnection — especially for the Sikh youth participant seeking belonging and identity in a world that has misunderstood them.

The journey continues through the sublime stillness of Leh-Ladakh, and then to the emotionally rich landscapes of Srinagar and Jammu, where beauty exists alongside historical wounds. In Dalhousie, surrounded by the serenity of Himalayan forests, participants find space for silence, integration, and self-reflection.
Along the way, they engage in conversations with Indian changemakers, participate in cultural rituals, and immerse in meditation and breath-based practices rooted in India’s spiritual traditions. As trust deepens, stories emerge — raw, honest, and healing. Barriers dissolve. New bonds are forged.
The journey culminates in a quiet mountain circle, where each participant offers heartfelt reflections on their inner transformation — sharing insights on forgiveness, empathy, and the power of choosing love over fear.
From India With Love: UK Edition is more than a documentary. It is a bridge across cultures, a journey into the self, and a bold reminder that in an age of rising hate and disconnection, healing begins from within — and love is still our greatest strength.
