Six – eight diverse people from across Australian embark on an extraordinary two-week quest for healing and reconciliation across India, a land renowned for its spiritual wisdom and ancient traditions. Each person brings a unique story of pain, resilience, hope, and their universal quest for healing and transformation.
The participants will include a cross section of Australian society such as youth, survivors of domestic violence, refugees, war veterans, indigenous leaders, police/correction officers, and educators. The group will be bound together by their desire to reinvigorate conversations about peace, compassion and nonviolence in Australia.
The journey across India will be facilitated by Indian wisdom teacher Mandar Apte, who shares deep practical insights that help the participants to heal and reconcile. Against a vivid backdrop — from Mumbai’s busy street markets to the historic city of Hampi and the serenity of the Ganges River in Varanasi — participants have meaningful conversations with local communities, partake in cultural rituals with the tribal and indigenous people of India and experience profound meditation practices for deeper healing and transformation.

Via candid, unscripted interactions and moments of introspection, through laughter and tears, the participants learn to confront past traumas and prejudices. They find common ground in their shared humanity, fostering bonds that transcend their differences and diverse backgrounds.
Against the backdrop of an ancient river worshipping ceremony, the film culminates with powerful reflections by participants regarding empathy, compassion, transformation and hope. Their transformational experiences demonstrate that even in the face of differences, we can invoke oneness and our shared humanity – helping us pave the way for a better future.
This soul-stirring documentary reminds us that even in our darkest moments, we can choose love, we can choose compassion, and in doing so, we can change the world.
